The Scions

The Scions are Ben's closest inner circle of friends.

Members include:

Benjamin Fairchild Though he, as we will see later, turned out to be one the least extreme of the group, he is still, by far, the group's ringleader.

Roger Bishop Ben's right hand man, and easily the most sadistic of the group.

Kelsey Morgan The only female member of the group. She, like her boyfriend, Roger, is a sadist and, like Roger, is extremely loyal to Ben. Kelsey's loyalty runs a tad deeper and she makes it painfully obvious that her interest in Ben isn't only platonic.

Noah Logan One of Alan's cousins, Noah takes a special delight in tormenting The Group (Alan still by far his favorite victim).

John Hill Seemingly the most innocuous of the group, the most inept and cowardly, John turns out to be one of the most cruel.

"The Scions" is not what they call themselves, but what Geoff and the rest of The Group call them. The name spawned from an incident when Geoff referred to them as "the self-appointed scions" to poke fun at their fundamentalist, holier-than-thou attitudes.

The Scions operate on their deep-seated prejudices (racism, homophobia, and anti-semitism chief among them). Their self-rightgeous, almost aristocratic, air comes off as deeply hypocritical and makes them unpopular with many. However, it did not make them social pariahs at school. They were the bullies who were too powerful and too popular for most anyone to try to stand up against them.

The only ones who ever did were Melanie and her friends, whom The Scions harassed endlessly (especially targeting Alan and Gael).

In late 1998, Roger and John were convicted of murdering Gael Torres and sentenced to life terms in prison. Shortly there after, Ben went to Paris to resume his studies at university, rarely returning home for years. Thus, The Scions were disbanded.
